The Greater Lansing area has more than 100 local festivals each year, celebrating everything from maple syrup to Blues music! Visit the Greater Lansing Convention and Visitors Bureau for a list of festivals.

You can also volunteer at most festivals, which is a great way to learn more about American culture and make new friends.

Of course we always cheer for the Spartans, but there are some other Lansing sports teams you can support, as well. The Lansing Lugnuts are a local baseball team with their own stadium near downtown Lansing. The Michigan State University campus is large, but there's so much to discover outside the campus borders, as well. The MSU campus is located in the City of East Lansing, but the capitol city of Lansing is nearby to the west and Meridian Township and Okemos are to the east.

Lansing is the capitol city of Michigan, where the state government offices are located.
