New undergraduate students should check this page regularly for updates on orientation, including virtual orientation. Michigan State University’s New Student Orientation (NSO) programs for summer 2020 are moving online for U.S. citizens, due to COVID-19. Plans for International New Student Orientation will be available soon.

Updates for Spring semester 2020, move-out instructions, building access, open dining halls, open service centers in the halls, Capital Area Transportation Authority (CATA public transportation), packages and mail. Residential and Hospitality Services will be offering on-campus students, including those in on-campus apartments, who have checked out by 5 p.m. April 12, a credit of $1,120.
The 2020 Summer Semester housing page will be updated soon with summer housing prices, residence hall options, and special summer housing and dining options for students. REHS is waiving the enrollment requirement for Summer 2020, meaning that students can live on campus this summer even if they are not enrolled in classes. Sign up for summer housing will likely begin on April 10, 2020. However, this date may change. Check the Live On Sign-Up Information page for updates as they become available.
Find out where to get food on campus, menus, hours of operation for open dining halls, Sparty's Market grocery store in 1855 Place, and the MSU Union Food Court. Daily menu selections are being maintained as per posted menus, however, items are prepackaged and ready for guests to select and pick up, which lessens service time and allows customers to safely obtain food from open dining locations. For more specifics on locations, hours and other safety precautions, visit the Eat at State website.

Resources and assistance for graduate and undergraduate students who have children including a daily live ZOOM check-in and Food Bank information & Food Bank survey to report food challenges and needs. The Student Parent Resource Center's homepage provides links to resources, scholarships, finding childcare, and other helpful services on campus and in the community.
The MSU Food Bank provides free food and related items for MSU students who are experiencing food insecurity. Check the website for hours of operation and food distribution updates, including a link to place your order. Orders are by appointment only and students are allowed one visit per week. Food orders will be packaged for pick up outside the front of Olin Health Center.
