Posted By: OISS    Published: Wednesday, 02 Jan 2013

According to U.S. immigration regulations, it is mandatory for international students to maintain a current U.S. address. For all semesters, including summer, MSU students must have a current U.S. residential address on file with MSU. Failure to update your address may impact your immigration status.

To report your U.S. address to OISS, please follow these instructions:

1) Log on to the Registrar’s web site: (Be SURE TO CLICK THE SEND BUTTON at the bottom of the page to submit your address.)

2) Your U.S. address CANNOT be a P.O. Box or an academic building or office. It must be a place where you sleep. The address can be c/o a friend. The only requirement is that your address in the U.S. and NOT a P.O. BOX or office and that it “describes where you live.”

3) Reporting your address with MSU will update the OISS system within 24 hours.

4) When you move to a new address, you must submit an update using the Office of the Registrar’s web site within 5 days of that move.

Please contact OISS should you have any questions.
