What is OPT?
OPT is a post-program completion U.S. work authorization option. F-1 visa holders can apply for 12 months of U.S. employment eligibility. For certain students in Science, Technology, Engineering and Math, there is also an option to apply for an additional 17 months of U.S. employment eligibility (which totals 29 months!).
