Spring 2012 graduates: Time running out

Posted By: OISS    Published: Thursday, 14 Jun 2012

If you graduated in Spring 2012, time is running out to apply for Optional Practical Training (OPT) (http://oiss.isp.msu.edu/documents/students/opt.pdf ). Students who apply must have their application received by USCIS within 60 days from their degree completion.

This is also the time frame that students have to transfer their record to another institution. Students who are continuing their education in the fall may choose to transfer their record to avoid paying a new SEVIS fee (http://oiss.isp.msu.edu/students/status/sevisfee.htm).

OISS can help you find out if you are still eligible for OPT or a transfer. You may call 517-353-1720 or stop by the office during our walk-in hours (http://oiss.isp.msu.edu/about/location.htm).
