Posted By: OISS    Published: Friday, 23 Mar 2012

The Office for International Students and Scholars (OISS) has extended the deadline to apply to be an Orientation Leader during International Student Orientation ISO in August! OISS welcomes volunteers to help with the Fall 2012 International Student Orientation (ISO) program on August 13-24, 2012. This is an exciting opportunity to help MSU assist more than 1,800 new international students transition to a great start on campus and in the community.

Remember when you first arrived on campus and someone helped you? Or do you remember the experience of studying abroad in a different place and being helped by someone to get adjusted in a new environment? Or are you just interested in helping international students from around the world and making new friends? Helping others is both satisfying and fun!

This year, OISS is initiating a new program involving ISO Orientation Leaders (OLs), which will require a more rigorous application and interview process than in past years. OLs will submit an application together with a resume and Letter of Recommendation. More information about OLs can be found at:

In addition to ISO Orientation Leaders (OLs), other ISO volunteers are needed for various duties. ISO Volunteer Aides are required to attend a full day of training on Tuesday, August 14. OLs must attend both August 14, 2012 and OL training on August 15, 2012.

If you are interested in volunteering and want to know more about orientation, please visit the International Student Orientation web page:
