The 7th Annual East Lansing Welcomes the World event will be hosted at the East Lansing Public Library (ELPL), 950 Abbot Road, on Sunday, Oct. 2 from 2:30-4:30 p.m.

International students and families are invited to come meet their East Lansing neighbors at this special FREE event, brought to the community by a partnership between the City of East Lansing and Michigan State University.

The event will feature catered food, live music, family activities, community information tables, mingling and more. There will also be a brief program at 3 p.m. featuring welcoming remarks by MSU President Lou Anna K. Simon, East Lansing Mayor Mark Meadows and MSU Office for International Students and Scholars (OISS) Director James Dorsett.

Shuttle buses will run from campus to ELPL on a loop from 2-5 p.m., stopping regularly at North Hubbard Hall, the International Center, Brody Hall and the Spartan Village Community Center. These buses are free and available to anyone who needs a ride from the MSU campus to the event.

Community ambassadors are needed to help welcome international students and families to the community: http://www.cityofeastlansing.com/CivicAlerts.aspx?AID=442Opens in new window
