We're excited to announce the call for proposals for MSU's fifth annual Learning Abroad Conference. This is an opportunity for you to share your experience studying in the United States with MSU peers, faculty and staff, hear other students' stories, and gain experience presenting (plus this looks great on your resume!). Look at the Learning Abroad web page at http://studyabroad.isp.msu.edu/lac/, where you can watch videos from the 2012, 2013, 2014, and 2015 conferences and browse through student presentations to get ideas for what you might present on.
Most importantly, there's a link to the call for proposals for the 2016 conference, which will give you instructions on how to submit your proposal to present. Presentations may be done by individuals or small groups. If your proposal is selected, you will be paired with an MSU faculty or staff member "coach" who will help you to develop your presentation.
The Learning Abroad Conference, and all presentations, will take place on Friday, November 18th from Noon - 6:00 pm in the International Center and presenters are expected to attend the entire conference.
Last year's conference drew a crowd of about 150 people and we expect that the 2016 conference will be even bigger! We hope that you will plan to be a part of it!
The deadline for submitting a proposal is Sunday, October 9th. Note that the deadline on the website is September 30th, however, this deadline has been extended.
If you have any questions about how to submit a proposal, please contact Liz Matthews, Assistant Director in OISS, at email@example.com.
