OSA is Hiring a Peer Advisor to Start ASAP

Posted By: OISS    Published: Monday, 17 Feb 2014

The Office of Study Abroad has an immediate opening for a new study abroad student peer adviser. We are looking for a student that is passionate about their study abroad experience, and has the ability to articulate and relate their experience to both students and parents. Peer advisers are the face of OSA, and more often than not, are the first line of communication between OSA and future participants. All peer advisers are trained on general office functions as well as how to advise on a large amount of relative information as it relates to study abroad – scholarships, application process, financial aid, etc. As such, it is necessary that a potential peer adviser candidate to have studied abroad.

The student must be able to dedicate 8-10 hours in the OSA Resource Room, as well as be able to staff after hour events around campus. They must be able to dedicate time to projects, work well with their peers and be able to communicate at a high level through advising sessions, events and presentations.

Please contact Nick Schrader (schrad53@isp.msu.eduOpens in new window) for application materials. The position is open until filled.
