Work On Campus

MSU offers a variety of opportunities for students to work on campus. MSU hires more than 18,000 students each year in positions like department aides, computer assistants, food-service workers, laboratory attendants, research aides, and tutors.

Working on campus is a great way to practice your English, make friends with other students, get to know MSU faculty and staff and learn professional skills. Employers look at all types of work experience when reviewing resumes so working on campus is a great way to get experience for future internships.

Working on campus helps you:

  • Practice your English
  • Earn extra money
  • Gain work experience
  • Learn about U.S. culture
  • Make friends with your peers
  • Get to know MSU faculty and staff

Immigration Rules

International students can work on campus up to 20 hours a week during fall and spring semesters, and full-time during the summer and semester breaks. F-1 and J-1 students must follow on-campus employment rules in order to maintain immigration status.
